The word fearful is neat because it can change slightly depending upon context. Though it’s a more formal sounding word, it’s also a word that can be used across genres and writing styles.


Writing Prompt

Write a story/scene using the word fearful in a way you’ve never used before. Examine the different definitions and try to describe what is fearful about whatever is happening in the scene according to the particular definition.
